Custom Steering Wheel

Nardi steering wheel

Since I started renting rooms last August many roommates have come and gone.  See my previous post for the full story.  The general rule seems to be to leave without notice and leave a bunch of stuff behind. And never ever leave a forwarding address or contact phone number.  As a result my carport is full of orphaned junk.  Some of it turns out to be potentially valuable.  I have finally decided to sell what I can on Ebay.

One of the items is a custom steering wheel by Nardi.  It is made out of Mahogony and Ebony with chrome spokes.  A bit of research shows that this kind of item is generally valued at around $400, with some examples going for as much as $1800. Nardi was the original supplier of steering wheels to Ferarri.  Here's a quote about Nardi wheels:

Nardi Classic.

The Nardi Classic steering wheel is exactly that. A timeless design that can be used on any car with variation in colour and options. It embraces the philosophy of Enrico Nardi , who was the first to recognize that driving could be improved from changes in the steering wheel. Porsche and Ferrari still use the Nardi wheel to this day.

The wood version of the Classic wheel has two main differentiation points. The first being the colour of the spoke and the second being the horn ring variation.

Wooden wheels employ Polished, Silver and Black spoke designs. The Polished design is the original wheel for the classic machine style.

The pierced Nardi Horn button attachment on the Vite wheel gives a more aggressive look than the classic style.

Here's a link to the auction if the idea of having a spiffy custom wheel appeals.

Great night for movies
